Netflix News: The cast of the untitled psychological thriller continues to grow

Sissy SpacekSissy Spacek, who needs no introduction, and Linda Cardellini, who is Velma in those Freddie Prinze Jr. Scooby Doo movies, will be joining the cast of the still untitled Netflix psychological thriller from the same people who created the series Damages. The cast is turning out to be pretty cool, though I never heard of anything outstanding about the show Damages, and since I never watched the show (it's streaming now and I'll give it a shot, but man there are too many shows to watch right now), I'm not too excited, though Sissy Spacek is always awesome. She has a small part in Deadfall, which is streaming now, but it's a good movie, and though she's not in it much, when she is she's very good - duh.

Linda CardelliniLinda Cardellini has a few streaming movies as well, and a series also. Freaks and Geeks, which I have heard good things about, but haven't had a chance to check it out, and also I'm afraid it might be a bit dated and not stand up now. She was also in Super, which is streaming, and I've seen that movie and I loved it, but don't really remember her in it. Looks like I might have to watch Super again - which is okay by me.

I don't know who's in charge of making these shows happen for Netflix but he or she is a genius so far so I think it's safe to say this one will be good as well.

House of Cards confirmed for third season

House of Cards (2013) PosterWithout having seen the second season yet – it’s out Feb. 14 – I’m happy to hear that it will get a third season. I will also be happy if they say that's the end. Nothing worse than a good show on for far too long.

Netflix News: Untitled Drama/Thriller Starring Kyle Chandler

Early Edition (1996) PosterI was a fan of Kyle Chandler when I first saw him in Early Edition. I loved that show. I never watched Friday Night Lights, not being a sports fan at all, the show nor the movie it was based on interested me at all, so I sort of lost track of the guy after that. Then all of a sudden he was a dad in Super 8. Where did the time go?

Now he’s apparently signed up to be in a new Netflix original series about a family with dark secrets, and those secrets are revealed when the oldest brother returns home.

Doesn’t sound terribly original or interesting, but then again House of Cards when described doesn’t sound terribly original either and look how freaking great that show is. Netflix doesn’t seem to be able to make a bad series so far (although I did watch the entire series of Orange Is The New Black, and I do not see what all the love is for that show). The show is being created by the team behind Damages, streaming now, and I hear a lot of good things about that show (I’ll have to give it a try) so as-of-now the show is untitled and will being filming in March.
